Dr. Timothy Edwards

Principal, Academic Dean, Hebrew & Theology

Personal profile
Dr Edwards is the founder and visionary who has overseen the establishment of Selden College, in Oxford, and is the College’s first Principal.  His appreciation of the benefit of a robust Christian liberal arts education has developed through a variety of roles.

His previous teaching in Oxford has included graduate tutorials at the Oriental Institute, and for Wycliffe Hall, and he has taught Biblical Hebrew and seminar courses at the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies - all part of the University of Oxford.  More recently he has developed an online Hebrew course for BibleMesh and was Dean and Fellow of Theology at New St Andrews College, Idaho, USA.

Prior to studying Hebrew and Theology, in Jerusalem and in Oxford, Dr Edwards taught Physical Education, Rugby and Theology at secondary school level.

Married to Anna, they have six children and two grandchildren.
